La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation | Review

Creme De La Mer Launched a new foundation late last year the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation and I've been meaning to share my thoughts on it with you. Now, it is undeniably the most expensive foundation I've ever used with a price tag of $110/£85 but it also happens to be my new Holy Grail Foundation. Keep reading to find out why!

First impressions on packaging alone always makes me feel rest assured it was money well spent. Not to mention with every Creme De La Mer purchase you get to choose 2-3 samples of their other products which is always a nice treat! What can I say I'm a sucker for good packaging design and presentation and Creme De La Mer never ceases to impress!

The foundation shade I went for is called 'Tawny 41' and this is the same shade as worn by one of my favourite bloggers Marianna Hewitt. Now, I tend to go a shade darker than my bare face with my foundation as I like being a bit bronzed. Check out the swatch of the foundation below.

This particular shade is definitely warmer than my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #7 which is a favourite of Kim K. At first, I was concerned that perhaps it would be too warm especially if it were to oxidise I could end up looking a bit too orange. But fear not! As once the product was applied there was no oxidisation whatsoever. Check out my before and after pictures of the La Mer Foundation below with details on my final thoughts.

Once applied my first thoughts were that a little goes a long way I only needed two small pumps vs. 4 pumps I use with my Giorgio Armani foundation. The texture of this foundation is amazing as your skin really drinks up this foundation instead of it just sitting on top of your face it blends into your skin seamlessly. For me it's really important that a foundation protects my skin, looks natural, doesn't age me, and of course makes me look better than without and the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation ticks all these boxes and then some! This foundation is infused with Creme De La Mer's secret miracle broth so it's improving your skin with every wear, which for me is the ultimate as I'm obsessed with anti-aging and skin care products. This foundation also includes SPF20 so you're also staying protected from the sun and don't have to apply any sunscreen before applying this product unless you're after a higher SPF but 20 is just fine by me!

I have to honestly say that this is my new favourite foundation of all time and I will definitely be repurchasing this product so for me it was a £85/$110 well spent considering all the benefits of wearing this foundation.
